Phase 1
January 2016 - June 2020
In Phase 1 we were able to lay a strong foundation through an exceptional staff of seasoned trainers and practitioners as well as eight training programs and two grant programs. We began seeing fruit as dozens of movement-minded church plants opened across the five boroughs. We also closed on a property in the Upper East Side to provide a permanent home for Redeemer East Side and the New York Project Leadership Development Center.
The work in Phase 1 confirmed for us that to accelerate a gospel movement in New York, it will take much more than a single church or a single denomination. It will take a network of hundreds of gospel-centered churches from many denominations; it will take hundreds of trained pastors and lay leaders equipped for the challenge of ministry in New York; and it will confirmed for us the need to address adverse real estate issues in the city in order to provide permanent ministry homes for churches.
Phase 1 Results
The New York Project began in 2016 as a dream for the future of New York City. Our goal was to help plant 250+ new churches across all of New York City and through this, triple the body of believers in center-city Manhattan to a tipping point of 15% by 2026.

A New Home
We closed on a piece of property at 150 East 91st Street in the Upper East Side!
We’re thankful for many who prayed with us over the 4 years! It was an arduous process with many ups and downs but we’re grateful to God for providing a piece of property that not only provides a physical home for Redeemer East Side but also much-needed training space for CTC.
